We are four individuals attempting the challenge of riding motorbikes over 2600 miles from the UK to Casablanca and back. We're doing this to raise funds for The Honeypot Charity which provides care for underprivileged children in the UK. We depart for France on July 2 so the bike ride itself starts on 3rd: we aim to get to Morocco and back to northern Spain in under 6 days. To make the challenge tougher we'll be sleeping under the stars, and carrying all of our kit with us on the bikes.
British passports don't work that well everywhere. I hope your wallets aren't too much lighter chaps.
ReplyDeleteGood grief that seems to have been a bit of a mission - hope it doesn't take as long to get out!! Like the smiley photo tho x
ReplyDeleteThe boys are having some network issues in Morocco so can't update the blog easily at present, but have had a text from Simon to say they're OK and en route to Casablanca.
ReplyDeleteCan confirm the network issues, as the text seems to have taken over an hour to reach me here in London.
Will let you all know if I hear anything else.
keep on smiling guys - and the whole world (including the border guards) will smile with you! love from the mum in canada xx
ReplyDelete16:58 UK time, the system shows an update of about 20 mins ago - only problem seems to be that they were travelling at 80mph through a field - lets hope google have missed off some roads!!
ReplyDeleteJust spoken to Simon. They're fine and had just stopped for fuel. They have clear roads with smooth tarmac and a nice cool breeze but aren't hammering it at the moment as they're all a bit tired.
ReplyDeleteThey have no mobile internet access and are therefore not able to update the blog or read any comments on here. If you need to get a message to them, please text, since that's still getting through.
They're hoping to get some mobile internet once they reach Casablanca, but have no idea whether this will materialise or not.
Other than that, Simon thinks it's unlikely they'll make it back to Spain tonight as they're still 100 miles shy of Casablanca at this point. Think they've had a bit of a rough time of it, so I hope they'll find somewhere nice to kick back and relax tonight once they reach their destination.
Will let you know if I hear anything else.
